Final Task: JUSTICE

Image
Hi, Kayla here. So, this is the final task video. I reviewed the video and made sure it was the correct one. I am glad with the outcome. I had a lot of fun doing this project. This was a earning experience for me when it comes to doing an actual film. We had to be a little more independent. I learned some new editing tools and how to work some new tech. My favorite scene would decently be with the blood. That was definitely a lot of fun to do. I absolutely enjoyed doing this final and would do it again.

Final Review: Changes actually made.

Image
Hello, Kayla here. So, this blog will be about tbe actual changes that were made to the film. Some of the suggestions that were made to me by my family were done and some on our own. The shooting scene in my opinion wasn't too graphic so that was left the way it was. We saw no reason to re-shoot it. I also, took into consideration what was said to me and we did end up shortening the shooting scene. That was originally 11 seconds and was trimmed down tremendously. I also did some changes to the lighting. So from 0:48 seconds to 1:05 I created and added a sunlight filter. From 1:05 to the ending of the video I made and used a nighttime filter. It took me a while. I thought the filters were already made but turns out it wasn't. So, I had to use the color adjustment settings to get them to come out the way we desired. I also did end up adding some fade-outs but took them out in the end. I had to export like three different videos and go back to add ontop each. The behind the scenes

Editing Blog: Effects

Image
Hi, Kayla here. In this Blog I will be disappointed how I made the gunshot effect. So, the reason I had to make the effect was due to the fact that one of my groupmates thought the BB gun used would make a firing sound. I don't know why. The gun is fake so the only sound it makes it the clicking of the trigger. I looked at a couple videos to show me how to make the sound. I downloaded s couple editing programs and went straight to work. I tried to make the sounds just from the effects off the app. I quickly realized that wouldn't work out. So, then I tried to watch one with firecrackers. I didn't have any firecrackers so that was a no. I then grabbed a few items and started to make sounds. At one point in time I had stopped that because the recordings weren't blending properly to make the proper sound. I then tried to get the sound from a game and then do my own editing. So I turned on my phone and went on a game. Started firing and hoped to get the bases of the sound.

Editing Blog: Openshot

Image
Hello, Kayla here. So, this blog will be my first editing blog. This will be on the editing platform that was used for the film. We used openshot video editor to edit. Open shot has features including Title editor, 3D Animation, Cross platforms and more. So, all the videos and clips that we have, have been made into one file. I organized them by video. The maximum amount of tracks were five. I learned how to check the content. I dragged it throught time which shows you differe parts of the video. As, I played around with the app I learned how to place more than one clip onto each track. I learned how to rotate and scale. Scale gets rid of the black bars shown by stretching the clip. I learned how to screamed more than one key frame. I also learned that a razor tool form the edit toolbar is what's used to cut a clip. The app is overall pretty great. It took me a while to get a hang of it. I kept clicking on the wrong things and had to go back and start over. I also edited some of th

Production Blog: And Action!

Hello, Kayla here. Today my group and I did a couple things. Ariel, Zahra, and I filmed the scenes with Zahra and I. This scene is one of the later ones in the film. After the whole shooting has taken place, this is giving a little glimpse of the aftermath. We filmed at a park that was closr to our school. It was the most convenient location for us, especially today. We got off early so we had to choose somewhere we knew and familiar with. It also was a perfect setting for what we shoot today. We spent a little time eating and just relaxing before we shot. It was drizzling a little at one point. Not too much to the point where we had to leave thankfully. The shot composed of me walking down a little path way after the death of my bestfriend. As I walk with a dazed look on my face you can hear speaking in the background. The shot is more so focused on my body language and facial expression. Zahra can be heard trying to grab my attention until the end of that scene. She doesn't end u

Film Review- Feedback and Suggestions

Image
Hello, Kayla Here. So, this blog will be about the feedback that we received on our film. My groupmate Ariel and I are the ones who edited the film. So, I showed the film to both my mother and father. I also, showed it to my aunt and cousin. I got a few suggestions saying that we should cut the shooting scene which was originally from two angles. To allow us more time with the other clips to just keep it at one angle. It was also suggested by one of my older cousins to add a few more fade-outs. I had asked if I needed to make any changed to the lighting or anything of that sort. Just to see if it would make the video pop more. I was told no, it was fine the way it was. My father said to also add a few more fade-out shots. He, also suggested to enhance the sound of our voice so that it wouldn't be drowned out by the music that was placed over it. Overall most of the suggestions were the same. It was mostly on the fade-outs. Along with how we should double checked to make sure that o
