Creative Critical Reflection Blog

Name: __Kayla Ferguson Creative Critical R eflection How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? I would say that the product me and my partner used helps ease the anxiety of students while taking an important exam. Using myself as an example, I often use my own Ink Joy pens( the red one out of my set being the one that was actually used in the making of this commercial.) to take my own exams/ test or even quizzes that require me to use a pen. When I'm taking my exams or quizzes I don't have to worry about my pen not writing properly or me having to go back and re-write something more than once because the pen is causing issues. As a matter of fact, I tend to be able to write a lot smoother, faster, and I don't have to worry about the pen smudging and leaving marks or ink stains on my paper. 2. How does your p roduct engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text? I would sa

Commercial Blog

Image
Hi, Kayla here. This blog is my 2nd to the last blog for this project. This is the commercial blog where the video/ actual commercial is shown here. This commercial is about an ink joy pen and the attributes said pen has. You can see that in the commercial I was using a different pen officially. But, that pen as shown in the video was causing issues and not working properly. I was then given a pen which turned out to be an  Ink Joy pen before I proceeded to start writing. You can hear me explain how the pen writes smoothly and work wonderfully. The filming experience was great to say the least. I really enjoyed the process of filming this commercial.

Editing blog B

Image
Hi, Kayla here. So, today was part two/ b of editing day. So to start off the editing process today I was trying to see if  I could possibly blur out the back in the video once again. Just like last time I got the same result with it. It blurred the background but also couldn't focus on me so I was also blurred. So, I have officially given up on that and just going to let the background stay the way it is. My partner and I discussed if we should change our editing platform. The discussion was made and the editing platform was changed. I searched upon OpenShot and Clipchamp. My partner and I ultimately decided on using Clipchamp. I watched as my partner learned how to use the app and then started editing. I did put in my two cents when  I realized that my pattern was trying to split-screen our shot. I asked if she didn't still have the split screenshot from when we used the previous app. After a while of looking for it which ended up having to download back the old app/ origina

Editing Blog

Image
Hello, Kayla here once again. I started my editing process today by combining the video which is our 1st take and the opening scene from our commercial with the second clip. I trimmed the clips a little so that they could flow into one another. But, then a problem arose, the two clips on separate days, and because of that, some things had to be trimmed to a certain point. With that being said the expected product of those two clips wasn't what was actually produced. So, I informed my partner of this and they took up the editing of that clip. I continued to try and combine and trim the videos only for there to be some other issues like not being able to blur the logo. So, once again my partner just started editing from their device instead. I still gave my input. I had recommended us actually not blurring the logo because the final shot was already a fade-out that faded out into the ink joy logo. The ink joy logo is actually the closing scene or clip so I said just leave it as it s

Filming Blog(B)

Image
Hello, Kayla here. This is part b/2 of my filling blog. So, the first thing I did was go over our already filmed clips/ shots/ takes. So on Friday, we did not get the opportunity to shoot out the first tale. So that's what I did today. That shot really just consisted of me walking into the setting for the film. So I walk into the camera view snd towards the desk. It's kinda what our first shot was last week but because of other's filming, we couldn't get that shot so that's what was done in terms of wrapping up filming. The filming was done on my phone actually so after that was done I spoke with my partner and we decided to start editing right then and there. I started to cut the videos and combine the shots so that they could all come together. A problem aroused when I tried to edit two shots actually because that was supposed to be a split-screen. The issue was that I have no idea how to split-screen using my phone. I collected all of the videos...the final
