Sound-  

  • -Non-diegetic sound- soundtrack  
  • -Diegetic sound can come in occasionally for thematic effects (actors speaking, background/ambient sound)  


CAMS-  

  • -tracking shots are commonly used  
  • -close-up of the subject’s face 
  • -Two-shots  
  • -Tilts are very common  
  • -Over- the Shoulder shots 

Editing-  

  • -Crosscutting  
  • -Fade ins’/fade outs’  
  • -Zooms in and out 

CLAMPS-  

  • -Costumes- very fashionable clothing, trendy and stylish,  
  • -Lighting- can vary from normal to dramatically colored lighting  
  • -Acting- usually lip-syncing, can also be acting out events described by lyrics, dancing scenes can also be added 
  • -Make-up- trendy, glamourous, ranges from more dramatic looks to more natural  
  • -Props- range heavily based on portrayed storyline, but there’s never any weaponry or unrealistic/ fantastical items 
  • -Settings- range heavily based on storyline, but are usually realistic and usually glamorous settings (parties, galas, award ceremonies) If there’s a single subject, a slightly fantastical setting (a purely blank room, or a room with dramatic lighting) will be used.

    Who I will be working with

       For this film project, I will once again be working with Ariel on this project, as well as Hervis. Ariel and I have worked together on all the previous projects in this class so far. One of the things that I like the most about working with her is her work ethic. I have worked with her on other assignments and projects in other classes as well. Whenever she has an idea she tends to not only come up with that idea but most times are a few steps ahead and thinking of what can be done with that idea or how we can incorporate it into our project. She is also very reliable. Not to mention someone you can depend on to get their work done and done efficiently. She has an amazing work ethic that is very admirable.     Final Decision Blog

    Our final genre decision is an action film. An action film typically consists of an intense plot with the protagonist actively working towards a goal, usually enlisting the help of others. Fight scenes are also extremely common. Protagonists are often attacked when trying to reach their goals, during key points of the storyline. Another common theme of action films is the protagonist needing to step up to achieve their goals.  These common themes that run through the genre make it ideal for our pitch. In our pitch, our protagonist will be faced with a terrible situation. They will then have to step up in order to right the wrongs that have been made. We won’t be filming any fight scenes for this task, and our pitch may not include physical fights, but our protagonist is still fighting for something.
