Music Video Blog- Final Product

Hello, Kayla here. This Blog will be my second to the last Blog for this music video project. The song that was chosen for our video was "Apparently" by J.Cole. I was able to shoot at my home seeing as my father was able to finish the part of his project that was preventing me from doing so. In the opening scene of the MV, you see my fellow scene pattern Hervis and myself walking down the street together before we check out cellphones and see us part ways once again before we move out of the frame and are gone. The next scene picks up with me and Herv walking into our individual homes on split-screen. We both as shown in the video eventually make our way to our bedrooms before Hervis sits on his bed and starts his homework while I, on the other hand, sit at my desk and remove my Chemistry book and my Laptop inform my bookbag, and start my homework. The scene then switches to Hervis finishing off a painting and myself writing a song in a notebook when J. Cole says "This is my canvas" before the scene switches back to us doing our homework. Then when the scene switches back you can see Hervis struggling to get his homework done while I on the other hand am seemingly moving through my homework with no ease and are having no problems. From there it shows( we are still on a split-screen by the way) the next scene which was Hervisd and I playing our Playstations 4's. He was playing it in his room while I on the other hand was playing mine in the Living room. Then the split-screen that has been running right throughout has now ended and switches to solely Hervis playing the game before the video ends. The music video's running theme can be seen based off of not only the way that we are interpreting the song but what is being shown by us students and not what is being said. The filming experience was great and I had assistance from my mother when shooting the in-house shots. This project definitely made me be able to use my creative thinking skills.
