Creative Critical Reflection

How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?

I would say that the product me and my partner used helps ease the anxiety of students while taking an important exam. Using myself as an example, I often use my own Ink Joy pens( the red one out of my set being the one that was actually used in the making of this commercial.) to take my own exams/ test or even quizzes that require me to use a pen. When I'm taking my exams or quizzes I don't have to worry about my pen not writing properly or me having to go back and re-write something more than once because the pen is causing issues. As a matter of fact, I tend to be able to write a lot smoother, faster, and I don't have to worry about the pen smudging and leaving marks or ink stains on my paper.

2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?

I would say it engaged with audiences by being informative. It would be distributed by being a commercial on a TV but also being an ad on social platforms like YouTube, Twitter, or Instagram.

How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

I would say that my production skills have definitely improved after doing this project. I know how to edit better than I did before. I now know that experience of making a film project. I know how to shoot angles and what to do to gauge the effect that you're looking for. I learned a lot from doing this project. I definitely know some things to not do when it comes to filming now; definitely learned from the mistakes that were made along the way.

4. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware, and online – in this project?

By using different apps and resources online. my cellphone was used to edit some clips and then those same clips that my partner and I decided to keep were then transferred to Videopad to do some ore editing like split-screen 2 of those clips and put out video together. We got the final product from Videopad before transferring it to clip cham which is another editing program to look over the video before we embedded it.
