 STORYBOARD BLOG-  

Due to some changes after a discussion, our location list, costumes, and props have changed. Props are now revolving around school activities, home life and hobbies, such as paper, bookbags, art supplies, writing utensils, and video games. Our location list is a local road and the actors’ homes and our costumes are casual wear. Our backup plan will be using a different phone and/or filming at another available house(for example, an aunt’s house).  The song that we will be using for this project is Apparently By J.Cole; this was suggested by Hervis. We were trying to figure out between Crooked Smile which is also by J.cole and Poetic Just By Kendrick Lamar FT and  Drake. Then, Hervis brought up this song and we took a quick listen and decided on this one. Slide one will be a wide shot of the two actors(students) walking away from school together. Slide two is going to be a medium close-up of the students looking at their phones in surprise. They realize they need to head home and start working.  Slide three will be a wide shot of the students walking in opposite directions. Slide four will be a split-screen (SS) of the front doors of the students’ homes. They walk into their houses. Slide five will be a SS of students dropping their bags, looking tired. Slide six is a SS of students walking into their rooms.  Slide seven will be another SS of students in their rooms, pulling out giant stacks of work.  

Slide Eight is a SS of students working. This shot will be longer, approximately 10 seconds. For slide nine there will be another SS and a tilt to show a stack of more work on their desks. Slide ten will be a medium close-up of student A’s exhausted face. Slide eleven will contain a medium close-up of student B’s exhausted face. Slide twelve is going to be an SS of the students being creative to relieve their exhaustion. Student A is painting, Student B is writing. (This shot is subject to change since it will need to coincide with a certain lyric of the song). Slide thirteen will be an SS of students slamming their textbooks shut, showing they're done with their work. Slide fourteen is going to be an SS of students turning on their TVs so they can relax and play video games. Slide fifteen will be a medium-wide shot of one student speaking to another through their microphones. (Diegetic sound comes in).

Final Review: Changes actually made.

Hello, Kayla here. So, this blog will be about tbe actual changes that were made to the film. Some of the suggestions that were made to me by my family were done and some on our own. The shooting scene in my opinion wasn't too graphic so that was left the way it was. We saw no reason to re-shoot it. I also, took into consideration what was said to me and we did end up shortening the shooting scene. That was originally 11 seconds and was trimmed down tremendously. I also did some changes to the lighting. So from 0:48 seconds to 1:05 I created and added a sunlight filter. From 1:05 to the ending of the video I made and used a nighttime filter. It took me a while. I thought the filters were already made but turns out it wasn't. So, I had to use the color adjustment settings to get them to come out the way we desired. I also did end up adding some fade-outs but took them out in the end. I had to export like three different videos and go back to add ontop each. The behind the scenes...

Title Research: Mission Impossible 2

Mission impossible 2   1. How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film? Which ones?   There are only 3 titles the producer Tage and the director tag and the title of the movie. This movie decided to take the fast option giving you the most important tags for the opening. To get their idea across quickly on what type of movie it is going to be.    2. What connotations do the images carry? (how do you they make you feel)   The titles are in between very intense images, editing, and sound going on with the titles it makes me feel pumped and ready to watch a action packed movie. The opening gets you prepared for the intensity of the movie.    3. How is genre reinforced through symbolic and technical codes from the outset? Commercial Blog

Hi, Kayla here. This blog is my 2nd to the last blog for this project. This is the commercial blog where the video/ actual commercial is shown here. This commercial is about an ink joy pen and the attributes said pen has. You can see that in the commercial I was using a different pen officially. But, that pen as shown in the video was causing issues and not working properly. I was then given a pen which turned out to be an  Ink Joy pen before I proceeded to start writing. You can hear me explain how the pen writes smoothly and work wonderfully. The filming experience was great to say the least. I really enjoyed the process of filming this commercial.
