My group and I have selected these three genres of music that we can look through and then choose some songs for each genre. We had selected these songs originally. But, we ended up changing the songs to the next list I will be putting under this as we progressed.

We settled on using R&B/Soul, Afrobeats, and Hip Pop as our genres to choose from. 


Props- Our group went with a storyline that focuses on aspects of black culture (specifically in Africa and America). Props will include things like school bags, books, sketchbooks, or any other indicators of a hobby and objects related to hair, like combs, picks, and durags. We have chosen songs that have both aspects of Traditional African and African American culture. So, overall, you will be seeing the different parts of Black culture.  

Costumes---- In our music video, the style will revolve around trends in black culture. This includes turbans, headwraps, natural hair being shown, and streetwear(?) items. There is no need for specific clothing since this is a more casual setting. The setting and the costumes will fit in with the storyline of the song we have chosen. 

Schedule----  

11/16/21- Our group will plan all needed elements for a successful video 

11/19/21- Our group will create the storyboard for our 1 minute and 15-second music video. 

11/20/21- Our group will film all possible shots.  

11/27/21- Our group will continue to film.  

12/4/21- Our final filming day, editing can start here if possible.  

12/6/21- Editing begins if it could not on 12/4. 

12/8/21- Final touches for editing.  

12/10/21- Final review and error fixing.  

12/13/21- Our final product will be uploaded.  

 

Location List---Our locations will be outdoor spaces. They will include things like walls with graffiti art, parking lots, basketball courts, public parks.   

Backup---- o    a  

If we cannot film in those areas, we will film in an indoor public space like a mall or plaza.

Final Review: Changes actually made.

Hello, Kayla here. So, this blog will be about tbe actual changes that were made to the film. Some of the suggestions that were made to me by my family were done and some on our own. The shooting scene in my opinion wasn't too graphic so that was left the way it was. We saw no reason to re-shoot it. I also, took into consideration what was said to me and we did end up shortening the shooting scene. That was originally 11 seconds and was trimmed down tremendously. I also did some changes to the lighting. So from 0:48 seconds to 1:05 I created and added a sunlight filter. From 1:05 to the ending of the video I made and used a nighttime filter. It took me a while. I thought the filters were already made but turns out it wasn't. So, I had to use the color adjustment settings to get them to come out the way we desired. I also did end up adding some fade-outs but took them out in the end. I had to export like three different videos and go back to add ontop each. The behind the scenes...

Title Research: Mission Impossible 2

Mission impossible 2   1. How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film? Which ones?   There are only 3 titles the producer Tage and the director tag and the title of the movie. This movie decided to take the fast option giving you the most important tags for the opening. To get their idea across quickly on what type of movie it is going to be.    2. What connotations do the images carry? (how do you they make you feel)   The titles are in between very intense images, editing, and sound going on with the titles it makes me feel pumped and ready to watch a action packed movie. The opening gets you prepared for the intensity of the movie.    3. How is genre reinforced through symbolic and technical codes from the outset? Commercial Blog

Hi, Kayla here. This blog is my 2nd to the last blog for this project. This is the commercial blog where the video/ actual commercial is shown here. This commercial is about an ink joy pen and the attributes said pen has. You can see that in the commercial I was using a different pen officially. But, that pen as shown in the video was causing issues and not working properly. I was then given a pen which turned out to be an  Ink Joy pen before I proceeded to start writing. You can hear me explain how the pen writes smoothly and work wonderfully. The filming experience was great to say the least. I really enjoyed the process of filming this commercial.
